What is Radome?
A Radome is an
electromagnetically transparent dome like structure that houses an
Antenna. The primary responsibility of Radome is to protect an
antenna from the ravages of the environment i.e from wind, snow, ice and
freezing temperatures to rain, salt, sand, the sun and even
lightning. Randome application includes radar and weather radar
system, air traffic control, telemetry, satellite communication,
satcom uplink, discs, milstar and receive only listening systems.
